How would you feel if you were in the place of these kittens?
One more beautiful than the other, but the lives of the five who made up the litter were quite the opposite of that.
Together, they were forced to remain confined in a small cage for hours, within a rural shelter. There, there was no hope that would motivate them to continue.
One of them even could not resist reaching the shelter. Fortunately, there was little Bijou, too, who made it to a temporary foster home after only 48 hours of life. And despite everything contributing to her death, the kitten was getting stronger and stronger, slowly recovering. With his brothers, it was nothing different. Soon they would be ready for future adoption.
The only problem, however, was with Bijou. The lovely little kitten was worried because she was only 73 grams, and when she reached 113 grams, she left everyone amazed. After all, she seemed to have stopped growing.
According to the vets, she even gained a few more grams, but lost a short time later. What no one expected was that the situation would reach such a critical level that Bijou would even collapse.
After much insistence, finally, the kitten returned and even stronger with its 140 g already the following week. They just didn’t think she would stay that way, micro, reaching only 232 g after nine weeks of treatment.
Fortunately, she is now well cared for and is definitely healthy thanks to the support of the National Kitten Coalition. But, believe it or not, it’s not everyone who “appreciates” their care. Many even criticize them with questions such as, “Why spend so much time/effort on just one kitten when so many people need so much help?
Their answer? “It’s just that all life is important, and when we commit ourselves, we don’t give up just because the road is difficult as long as the quality of life is good for the animal.”
